Overview
Verbatim Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC / SDXC) cards are designed for use in compatible digital cameras, portable MP3 players, camcorders, cell phones, personal computers and other consumer applications. SDHC / SDXC cards use a FAT32 file system – a specification established for applications with higher capacity requirements – and are particularly suitable for high quality video.
The increasing use of high-quality videos, high-resolution digital photography and mobile applications demands higher storage capacities and more demanding data transfer rates. The SDHC / SDXC cards therefore offer a continuous minimum data transmission speed instead of a maximum speed.
Performance classes:
Performance classes serve as the official unit for measuring the speed of SD cards and are defined by the SD Association. The unit corresponds to 8 Mbit / s and measures the minimum write speeds on the basis of the “best possible fragmentation state in which no storage unit is occupied”.
Class 10: Guaranteed data transfer rate of at least 80 Mbit / s (10 Mbyte / s).
